Infloor Heating

Imagine enjoying the warmth and comfort of an energy-efficient system that radiates warm, even heat throughout your home.

REHAU's radiant heating system works by circulating warm water through a network of cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) pipes placed in the floor. The surface area of the floor gently radiates heat throughout the room.

Radiant heating can be installed in a single room, or throughout your home, and can be used with a variety of heat sources, and floor coverings. For the ultimate in comfort and economy, room temperatures can be individually controlled using multiple thermostats. It works great with today's open floor plans, especially in areas with high ceilings. There are no heaters, radiators or vents to work around making furniture placement a snap. Say goodbye to cold feet and drafty rooms forever; discover the comfort of radiant floor heating!

Infloor Heating Benefits

  • Radiant heating warms everything in the room with a consistent, uniform heat. No more cold floors or drafty rooms.

  • It's economical, reducing operating costs by up to 30%.

  • It's quiet and clean, there are no noisy fans or dry blown air to distribute dust, allergens, or odors throughout your home.

  • Zone control - With room-by-room temperature control, you adjust the temperature to meet your needs for a particular room or time of day.

  • It's invisible, there are no bulky appliances, registers or ventilation ducts.

  • Since radiant technology doesn't heat the air, the warmest temperatures are not up high in a room (as is the case with conventional forced-air systems), but at the first 5' or 6' above the floor. After all, that's where the people are!

Infloor Heating Setups

Concrete Floors - In lower levels, basements and/or garages, tubing is tied to the reinforcing mesh before the slab is poured. Radiant floor is very easy and cost effective to install in concrete.
Poured Floor - Tubing is installed over suspended wood floors and covered with poured floor under-layment.
Suspended Floors - Tubing is placed over the sub-floor. The tubing rests in heat transfer plates. This is an alternative to lightweight and is excellent for remodeling projects or additions.
Between the Joists - Tubing can be installed between the floor-joist. Between the joist heating is perfect for remodeling projects, additions and heating the upper floors of your new home.
Snow Melt - Snow and ice melting systems provide a simple, reliable and economic solution for snow removal. Hydronic systems circulate warm water through tubing buried in concrete, turf, asphalt, or a sand bed. The warm water heats the surface to a temperature where it is warm enough to melt away snow and ice. Rehau Snow Melt Brochure
